I came to Carlisle in 1999 as a GP registrar at St Pauls medical centre after spending a few years in hospital in Birmingham as a medic mainly in elderly care. I’ve maintained an interest in medicine particularly care of the older adults and work with Dr Corrigan to support the care homes we look after.
I am the practice education lead and a GP trainer as well as supporting trainee nurse practitioners within the practice and teaching medical students. I spent 3 years working for P&O cruises as a ships doctor before returning as a partner in 2006. I also have an interest in Musculoskeletal medicine and did the Society of Orthopaedic medicine course,
I have been a member of a triathlon club and completed a number of triathlons, marathons and half marathons although I am not currently training I try and maintain a reasonable level of fitness and enjoy walking in the fells. Cumbria is a beautiful part of the country and I’ve never regretted moving here despite having travelled the world!
